For those who may not be familiar with you yet, could you please introduce yourself and share a bit about who you are, both as an athlete and as a person?
For those who don't know me, I'm Raul Marcos, professional padel player, 32 years old and born in Madrid, Spain.
In the sporting aspect, I consider myself a positive person, fighter and with a great mentality. I love to compete and enjoy the pressure.
I currently live traveling all over the world, but I love playing padel. On the personal side, I am a very calm and familiar person, and I enjoy good company. I love to eat and enjoy the good life.
What would you say are your proudest moments or biggest achievements in your career so far?
What I am most proud of in my sporting career is to have been and to continue to be competitive during all these years and to remain among the best players in the world.
As for the ranking, I have managed to reach twice, to be number 36 in the world, the first in the World Padel Tour circuit and the last time two years ago in the ranking of the International Padel Federation.
As for results, I liked a lot to be champion of Spain U23, absolute runner-up, and champion of Spain by teams and with the selection of Madrid.
What are your aspirations and goals for the future, both in your sport and beyond?
My current goals are very diverse, since I'm going to play in different circuits, so I can't say a specific ranking position.
What I do have clear is that I want to remain competitive and a headache for the best players in the world. More concretely, I would like to be in the final rounds of the A1 Padel circuit tournaments, where I start this year, and where I have put all my hopes.
What drew you to our brand specifically, and how do you see it aligning with your personal values and goals?
To be honest, the first thing that caught my attention of Osaka as a brand was their personality, and once I met them, their values and the desire they have to be important in the world of padel.
All this was clearly seen during the meeting of brands that took place two years ago in Italy, where their stand did not leave anyone indifferent.
This enthusiasm and illusion, together with the current moment of my career, makes me think that we are together at the perfect time and that we will both achieve our goals.
What role do you see our brand playing in supporting you as an athlete, both on and off the field?
In padel, as in most sports, sponsorships become a fundamental part of an athlete's career.
Personally, Osaka's support is very important for me to keep pushing forward, and above all it is an extra motivation to know that they have trusted me to help them in their development. Also, together we will create the RM x Osaka collection throughout the year, which is great.
