What got you into hockey?
My older sister. I would always tag along and attend the camps she attended. She wanted me to be as good as her, if not better, and always pushed me to be the best I can be. She has always been my biggest supporter.

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
Serena Williams, because she has inspired so many athletes to never give up and because she has changed the way people perceive women's sports.

What does hockey mean for you, right now?
Hockey for me right now means chasing my dreams and never stopping until I am 100% satisfied with where I am. It also means doing my job so my teammates can do theirs. Everyday my love for hockey grows. I’m always looking forward to getting back to the pitch. It’s a constant in my life that I enjoy a lot.

What is it like getting to represent your country?
I’ve been wanting to do this since I was a little girl, I can’t describe it. Representing my country is a absolute dream come true. It is a feeling that does not go away and it makes me feel honored that I am able to play on this international stage and represent my country to the best of my abilities.

What is your pre-/after game ritual?
I have to blast music in my headphones on my way to the game, just to get into that right mindset. When in the locker room, I also love dancing and singing along to the music with my teammates.

What is a typical day in your life?
I go to the gym before school, and after school I like to hit around and work on reps.

What makes you happy?
Traveling and discovering different parts of the world.

What do you occupy yourself with, besides hockey?
I love going out to eat at different restaurants, getting out of my comfort zone and trying something new. I also love things that excite me like going to concerts, or even driving to the beach with a couple of friends. I also love watching sports, especially basketball, and I also run track.

How do you stay 'on top of your game'? (Healthy, driven etc)
Fitness is the number one for me. Making sure I am where I need to be, especially as a decentralized athlete. Also, making sure I am still in touch with centralized athletes and keeping myself accountable. I try not to be too hard on myself or beat myself up when I make a mistake. I try to focus on the future and not the past, stay in the right mindset and focus on the positive.

What do you still want to achieve as athlete?
Firstly I really want to get my first goal with the national team, and then I of course hope to win a gold medal at the Olympics.

How do you see hockey evolving in the next couple years?
I have seen more 3-D skills being implemented into the game. It’s becoming a very fast game: quick passing, quick thinking and having to be on top of your toes all the time. This makes it even more exciting.

What does the Osaka ambassadorship mean to you? In what way has Osaka impacted your journey as an athlete?
It means a lot to me. Osaka has been a brand that has supported me from the start. Osaka is not only a very supportive brand but they are very genuine in what they see in their athletes and that is something I love about Osaka.

What made you want to team u with Osaka in the first place?
I have used Osaka since I was little. To me, Osaka was always a brand I wanted to move forward with because of how much I liked it, and just how everything felt right when I used my Osaka stick and shoes. I was also drawn to Osaka's culture and I knew I wanted to be a part of that.

What is your ultimate tip for a starting athlete?
Never give up, and always play with grit and composure because you never know who is watching.

What would you tell your younger self?
I am very proud that you kept pushing to get us to where we are now! All the extra practices and games paid off!
